S+B’s wedding day couldn’t have been more intimate and perfect. I joined another Portland wedding photographer to shoot this wedding and I am so glad I did!
The bride and groom chose to get ready in at home. It was a quintessential old Portland house, and their decor eclectic. We found personal touches throughout the home. This is a veritable treasure trove for me as photographer, because I love incorporating special object in the images whenever possible. I photographed her heirloom Tiffany & Co earrings in a champagne glass surrounded by spirits on the bar cart, and their custom letterpress invitation suite was laid out on their cowhide rug.
The backyard ceremony (held at a family members home) was small. They had a beautiful altar and a dear family friend to officiate. Their ceremony was beautiful, and it was custom tailored to reflect their history together. It was elegant & intimate, yet understated. It was obvious that a lot of thought went into crafting the day.
Finally, they were joined at Elder Hall by close friends to have a family style dinner. I really cant think of a better way to do it! The entire event was small and simple like an elopement, but with all the festivities and the company of those who are near and dear like you would expect with a traditional wedding. I was so inspired by the entire day; I came home and announced to my husband that we needed to renew our vows so we could have an event like this!
